"Police" Model brain storm

#1

Post by FIMS »

May not be for everyone, but I was thinking how to change or evolve the Police model folder.

Then it hit me.

An FRN handled Police folder.

I think it would be something worth looking into for the Spyderco Crew.

I know in the LE circles it would do well. :spyder:

We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

Probably too similar to the endura... but then, I'd probably buy one. The SS Police was my first Spyderco and I've a bit of a soft spot for the model, so who knows.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Ive been away a bit, and did not see that thread. Good to see like minded ideas.

As far as it being too much like the Endura, so is the Delica, and most other knives that sport the FRN scales.

It would be lighter, a tad more affordable, and I would prefer carrying it on duty.

Bring back titanium, or maybe carbon fiber, but the carbon should be different than the originals.

Thanks.

Got tied up on another forum  for a bit, but have found I keep coming back to my Spydies.

Funny how that works.

My 1st Run Ti Millie keeps bumping other brands.

I do however, NEED to find one of the Ti/G10 M4 Millies. :D

White FRN, titanium, or something else but do not change the classic spear point blade shape. It is the most iconic.G10 Police with the modified blade shape was not a happy idea.A titanium handle would be a dream.

Have to disagree on that one. P3 is one of the best spyderco has to offer currently.

I would love to see a Police model with frn handles, would order one. Mention about it before in the the blade forumns awhile back. Hopefully it will be done. Sal listen! Frn are excellent handles from Spyderco. Gary

I suppose I am about to make this even more confusing by asking: Which FRN pattern would it have? The volcano grip or G-10 imitation?

If we're going for lightweight then it'd have to have the G-10 imitation FRN, wire clip, and no nested liners (similar to the new lightweight UKPKs). That's a knife that would pique my interests :)

I love the P3 and feel, aside from the economics of the mold, FRN would be a step down from the perfect knife that the P3 is.

A sprint run in a "super steel" , or a Ti framed one might be nice if I could afford it but I'm really happy with the P3. So happy I bought a second in fact.

I would go with the volcano handles, but Sal said something about the tooling costs. would be nice if the Endura had the same blade shape as the Police. Gary
