I would say that my favorite hollow grind is on the Gayle Bradley. It adds an 'old world' sort of class to a blade and yet yields great performance.

The Gayle Bradley is my favorite hollow grind. The high grind on the drop point blade makes a great looking knife and a wicked slicer. Plus its M4. I think the Yo2 will street price around $100

I've used some random high hollow grinds that are pretty nice. I'm not really a big hollow grind fan but the upcoming Yojimbo 2 i will definitely make an exception for.

Massad Ayoob hands down

#14

Post by JD Spydo »

My favorite Spyderco hollow grind blade is without a doubt my Spyderco Massad Ayoob SE model. Even my Massad Ayoob PE just seems to cut better for some reasons.

Interesting that you start this thread because I've noticed myself that not all hollow grinds are created equal. But the curvature of the Ayoob blade is awesome and I'm glad they at least made a Sprint run of it so everyone of the new folks would get a chance to see what an awesome design it is.

C83 Persian. Thin edge, slices like laser, great ergos, looks like beauty queen.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

Rock Salt. I have really enjoyed using that knife!

In the folder world, it would be the Michael Walker.

For modified Spydercos, it is a toss up between my reground Jess Horn in ZDP189 and my Vesuvius which was also reground.

Outside of Spyderco would be the Dozier K-35 Gentleman's knife. I really dig that one.

When I read this the first to come to mind was the GB but since it got a few mentions already I'll include the Manix2 with 154CM (the one being sold now, black or satin blade). That hollow grind turned a hard core knife into a great slicer also IMO.

I'd have to go against the grain and say my CRKT Laredo 7266. Great knife at a great price.
