tonydahose wrote:i doubt that a cop would bug you about it, especially because you can't stab anyone with the assist, (i'm talking about the blunted-tipped one, not the assist with the wharnie blade). you could always grind down the assist too. keep dunking the tip in water so the temper doesn't get messed up and you should be good to go.
edit: if you are nervous about modding the knife yourself, send it to me. pay for return shipping and i'll do it for free :)

A cheap no name fixed blade, my vehicle is a ragtop so I don't keep anything valuable in there. Also a Benchmade ERT1 for emergencies.

I've got an orange Assist in the arm rest, and occasionally have a Caly Jr (BRG, ZDP-189) in there with it.

I've got a couple of other blades in the BOB in the trunk too. I think a RAT-3 plus a couple other folders (just don't remember which ones :eek :) .

A worthless smith and wesson knife because Cincinnati has already broken into my car twice and it will probably happen again.

Orange Assist in the glove compartment. Although an H1 blade would be virtually immortal, I don't expect to have to touch up the VG-10 very often here.

I don't keep any in my car, I carry them all. But on the belt of my work jeans I also carry a Benchmade rescue hook and on my non-work jeans I have a black CRKT Extrik-8 hook.

An older model Delica. A few years I had one stolen from my glove box when I had to use a valet service for a job.
