Auction for 19 Spyderench blades?

#1

Post by JLannoo »

At least they look like Spyderench blades to me. Why would someone have so many?

This is at least his second try at selling them. Why would you want s-o-o-o many? You could buy a couple dream Spydies with $300. :D

Close, but this takes the cake:

That is hilarious though...what the **** is anyone going to do with disembodied blades? I can see if they are to a fixed blade with tang intact, but these would be very difficult to make into anything.

BTW, I very much doubt that it's a coincidence his location is in Colorado...I'll bet he or someone he knew worked for Spyderco and stole from them. Charming  ...

My thoughts exactly! IIRC, Spyderco doesn't sell blades by themselves.

Definitely stolen but it just shows how dumb he is - he would be better off trying to sell them in smaller number, not that I'm advocating it!!

Well, three possibilities. Someone originally stole them from Spyderco. Spyderco sold them at the factory sale without notching them. Spyderco supplied them to the gentleman who designed the wrench and they were sold by him. IIRC, Spyderco did give him a bunch of parts and he was assembling and selling the 'Renchs for a while. Only someone from Spyderco could say for sure, but there's at least an outside shot they were obtained legally.

Can't see any reason someone would want 19 of them, but that may just be because I haven't had enough coffee yet to jump start my imagination this morning.

I have 5 of those. What else would I keep printed threads in? :(

Yes, but did you give $279.00 each for them?

Yeah I bought a rench from him years ago. I guess thats possible. if he sold them separate at $15 he might get a few rench owners to grab a spare

What the heck would you even do with these if you had them? I honestly would not buy one for $1. What would i do with it? This is so stupid.

I'd buy them for $1. You could make a really cool photo for next year's calendar contest with them!

Ok yeah i'd figure out something to do with one for $1 lol, but c'mon at $15.79 each, i would rather spend a little more on a Ladybug myself.

It looks like those blades are the same shape and size of the blade in the Byrdrench? Maybe do a swap. Thing is, not sure if he would just sell one blade.

If he was selling them individually, I wouldn't mind bidding. I could use a spare SE blade for my PE SpydeRench. I don't know why I would need or want 19 spares, though.

I was going to buy the Spyderco binder but put the brakes on when I noticed the $19.99 shipping. That's a little too much for shipping. :D

I almost bought them but I actually need 20 instead of 19, so the set would not be good enough for me.
