Is the lock on my chokwe normal?

#1

Post by Rossi »

Hi this is my first ever post.
The frame lock on my chokwe does not sit flush with the blade when locked open. It stops about half way (overlaps) instead of lining up flush with the blade. Is this normal or should it line up pefectly? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

This is perfect for any framelock (Chris Reeve Integral Lock).
This way it has a lot of room for future wear and will serve you safe for a long time.

Where the blade meets the lock the piece of steel at the bottom of the blade is sloped causing the lock to stop half way. Sorry if I am repeating myself but is this still normal.thanks.

Yes that is fine.
We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

If it looks something like the lock on the Sage II pictured below, it's fine. Doesn't need to be exactly the same. If the engagement is a bit shallower, or a bit deeper, it's still fine.

Im so pleased after seeing those pictures and the 50% comment. This knife has grown on me more than any other(spydie). Probably because I wasnt sure about it in the first place. But the quality, lightness and the smoothness has really impressed me. I really do love this knife more and more as time passes and now that I know it is not faulty(through you guys) well it really has made my day. Thanks to all who have reasured me. :) :spyder: :D :spyder:
