Upcoming Mules?

#1

Post by Redeye »

Hello all,

I was wondering if any information has been released concerning upcoming Mule Team releases? I'm starting to really like these blades and I'm interested to know what's coming next. Anyone know anything?

I heard Sal was working on a Mule made with a rare Unobtanium alloy.

Unobtainium would be terrific :D Looking forward to that stuff :D From what I've read 20cp and cts xhp might be percolating in Sal's head, but know nothing further than that :)

I heard a diamond grinder powered by a nuclear reactor works adequately. :)

My understanding is that an Elmax Mule is in the works. Not sure if it will be the next one out.

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

Tom, that's what I remember hearing too. Elmax has attracted a lot of attention lately.

Sal also mentioned CTS-204P in a June thread:

"We generally try to do what our customers ask us to. We do have something in-the-works for CTS-204P (knife). I imagine a Mule Team is possible if you want one. sal"

I think Spyderco should make a second mule with a differenrt shape of the blade . Something like a droppoint hunter or cold steel espada . And the current one should stay as well . I just think there should be more deversity in this segment . The mule project is great and in that way it will appeal to more people .

I'd like to see something more traditional in shape, not just the blade which I think is fine, but the handle to blade angle. Something straight across would be nice, no choil on the blade portion, built into the handle would be ok though.

Mule Project (link) information from Spyderco.

They are sold by Spyderco directly, I believe they ship internationally This is a link for the current Mule, number 11, of M390 steel. Occasionally Mule blades are resold on eBay.
