I guess another "advantage" of this version is that, if history is any guide, it should become an instant "classic" that should appreciate in value after the dealer sells out and especially after they eventually become somewhat scarce on the secondary market.

True...I imagine it will be a fine knife to have, EDC, etc, as well...I may put down a deposit tomorrow after I sleep on it, as it seems that the people here who are very into Spydercos think quite highly of this knife. Thanks for the information everyone. :)

What the heck. I have $20 sitting in my PayPal. Worse I could do is sell it for profit if the blade doesn't appeal to me.

This is going to be a good one.
I also very much like some of the other knives you mentioned. ;)

KW updates the number available every few days. Looks like there are 109 today 11/4/11.

In J.Ankersons edge retention tests over on blade forums he has Spydercos M390 rated in the #1 category right up there with s90v and 20cp. That's where my interest in the steel comes from. As for carbon fiber, I just like the look of it plus it's lighter than g10. It brings the weight of the knife down .2 ounces to 4.0 ounces.

Overall, it's going to be an awesome version of the Military for hard use.

Although I love 20CP (enough to have several Para 2's in it). I've been using M390 in the Mule and I like it even more than 20CP. I can't really articulate why. They both have great edge retention and are fairly easy to work with. I guess I just prefer something about the edge I can get on it.

The above thought is smart and doesn’t require any further addition. It’s perfect thought from my side.

They will probably be gone in a matter of days.
Then all the folks that were not aware of this one or put it off over the past 4+ months will show up and be up in arms. LOL LOL
Its always the same.........

Then some folks will drop out when they show up and there will be a few left for those paying attention.
(If they get on the back up list that is)
