One thing I wish is that the clip would be black instead of shiny silver stainless but that is a relatively minor issue.

Thanks guys for the heads up. Without this forum, I would not have known about it. I have been kicking myself ever since I missed out on the titanium/G10 military.
The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

It's one of my favorite steels. :D

I just need a good folder in M390 at a good hardness above 60 HRC, I have a Custom FB in M390 at 62 HRC.

250 out of 800 on the first day is pretty good I would think.

Not bad by any means, but I wouldn't have been shocked if it had actually sold out. At 2/customer, that's only 400 orders (obviously, not everyone orders two). If the Rc range is right, this will be an S90V equivalent, if I remember Jim's results correctly. :spyder: And, in spite of all the Gen 2 Military talk, I think the original is still an outstanding folding blade platform .

I think M390 is better than S90v assuming RC is 61+. By "better," I don't necessarily mean in respect to edge retention although I'm sure it is close, but for some reason I prefer the way it cuts.

Plus the new generation Millie is apparently still quite a long time away from becoming a reality.

Plea to Spyderco:

Can we have some better pics of the proto than what's available on the KW site when any become available? I know it will look the CF/S90V but this thread WILL need some pics :D

The good thing about it being ready in 6 months time is that my wife didn't flinch when I told her I was buying another knife!

Howes had some new 20CP Para 2's up for sale at a fairly reasonable price earlier today. They sold out pretty quickly though.

Got my pre-order in for in. With my newly constrained budget, seems like the ONLY knives I buy anymore are sprint/special run Millies (XHP, M4 and now M390). Really looking forward to this one.
I prefer to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.

With my constrained budget, I skipped the XHP Millie in favor of getting two of the M390, although I did like the brown scales.
