So I'm on Ebay and see a Para 2.....
Sunday morning I'm doing my usual Ebay prowl and I see a listing with a cheap price. So I take a shot with 3 hours to go, and no one outbids me! I did it on a whim, for sure I wouldn't get it for $56, but I did. Now the description wasn't perfect or the pictures but I knew it was a Para 2 and not the old Paramilitary.
Here are the auction pictures:
Now I just thought they were bad pics, and I didn't realize it was a black bladed model. I saw the handle mods, but that's the handle, big deal. It needs a clip screw and a cleaning, but overall I think I got a good deal.
I think I might strip it right down to clean up the paint mod, or just leave it. Thoughts? It's a user for sure and despite everything else, it's sharp.

Well I opened it up and cleaned the paint from the inside. Birth date on the blade is 4-11, so it's not that old. The outside is cleaning up with sanding, including the grooves. Will have to use some rough sandpaper to make it a little more grippy.

That would be nice, but the grips would cost me more than the knife did.

You may end up with a surprisingly beautiful knife if you sand down the handle slabs enough to get rid of the "modding" incl. grooves and leave the G10 with a grippy enough, sanded surface. (isn't the Sage 3 made with a "smooth" G10 handle?) I'm looking forward to your results! (read: Where's the pics!? )

Paint and grooves sanded out and new screws from Spyderco on the clip.
