Some other store, who swore they had proper pricing on the Lionspy was listing it for pre-order for around $300. Maybe the price is a mistake from Knifecenter.captnvegtble wrote:Shocking low or high? It is the new Elmax people have been asking for.

Well on the Lionspy it does say the list is $249 and that price is similar to the rest for the savings off MSRP. I think I'm more shocked by the Manbug price, $76.95? Really?

The DPX HESTF, made by Lion Steel, sells for about $175 and is similar in materials (i.e., they're both half G10, half Ti framelocks), so since that was a new design and the Lionspy is a recreation of the SR1, it isn't surprising to find the Lionspy a bit cheaper, in my estimation anyway.
As for the Vallotton, I think we'll see it around the $175 mark once it hits other stores. (I'd still get it at $192, though; it looks to be a great knife.)

The Lion Spy has just surged up my list. and you only have to do one scale to customize it.

Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised by the price of the Manbug, esp since I just bought a ZDP-189 ladybug for only $32. I really liked the blue G-10 prototype, but I'm not crazy about the gray.Sithus1966 wrote:Well on the Lionspy it does say the list is $249 and that price is similar to the rest for the savings off MSRP. The MSRP is $499.95. As always, we don't price any of our knives based upon what we think the market will bear, but rather upon the cost of materials, labor, etc.
One difference between the collaboration model and the SR-1 is the steel. Sleipner steel (used in the SR-1) is a tool steel. Elmax is a powdered steel (more expensive).
Chris H is correct, the Euro to US Dollar relationship also impacts the final price.
