Love the Milli but for 2nd pick it would be the Chinook.

VG-10 I’m sure you know is, by some accounts better than 440V. There is no doubt these are the two top steels to choose from however. For me, the Zowada is the clear winner! The Chinook is, based on weight and size, in such a different class. Personally I’ve rejected it entirely for EDC. Putting the Zowada against the Temperance would be fairer but why not just get both! Zowada is in my future, no doubt! For now it’s the Temperance, Salsa and Native with the Mili as an alternative for me.

I'd grab the Chin. Great knife, great steel, and enough strength to punch through a brick wall.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Hey wiley sharp :

NEITHER seem to be in my immediate future <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
But, if I were you, it'd be the "Sh-thook" <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
( you know what I mean! <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>)

I have a Military and a Chinook, I use the Mili as a EDC and the Chinook sits in my camping and emergency bag. They are both great knifes. The Mili is light, and the Chinook is a superb knife. Buy em both. <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

What you guys think of the Chinook for an EDC around a farm/woodland. I've been thinking of getting it for my dad. He has a small farm and spends most of his time working it or his woods (cleaning camp sites, chopping wood, clearing trails, etc).

The Chinook seems like a knife even my dad would have a hard time breaking.

Thanks

Zabre, if he can break a Chinook, buy him a prybar and get it over with! The Chin's blade is solid enough to be considered unbreakable in normal use.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

zabrewolf,

I can't think of a better choice for that purpose than the Chinook. I don't think it's large or heavy for pocket carry either, at least not for me.
