Last I heard, these were both planned for continued production so long as sales keep up. The 'Walker Sage' would probably have the best fit&finish for your money at twice what they're charging for it, so it should by all rights continue to be a great seller for Spyderco.
The ZDP Caly is just fantastic, I'm glad it's still in production. Now if only we could get a bolstered/hardwood ZDP Caly3.5...

All I know is Caly 3 is out of stock everywhere for quite some time now. Bought a back up right before that so I'm set.

It all comes down to which lock type you prefer. They are both fantastic knives, however, the Caly 3 CF has a more refined feel.

As mentioned, these are backup's.
The Caly 3's do seem to be getting really hard to find.
Maybe there just in between runs. Not sure.

Sal mentioned recently in another thread that, "I will say that we have a Caly 3.5 in Super blue (Gray peel-ply G-10) in-the-works and we're considering a Carbon Fiber ZDP versions." http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showp ... ostcount=6

I'm waiting for those since I vastly prefer the 3.5 inch blade length.

I've been waiting for the caly 3s for a longtime. They have been sold out for a while.

I still suspect caly3 cf is getting the axe, given how its price dropped quite a bit even though USD is losing value against yen, then there's no more stock coming.

We'll see if it goes on the disco list this year.

@MCM

Why does the cf looks so shiny on that military? Looks good.

yeah I was wondering about this and wondering how it could be. I even looked at the 2011 catalog again and it showed NEW Caly 3 CF ZDP-189. So I figured it must have been a production flow dilemma for now.

Woohoo!! I was praying that the Caly 3 was not disco'd!! it's an absolute classic, it would be a shame to do away with it
