ATE,
Thanks, but the question was posed to perhaps get them back into POSTING! They surely could not have stopped reading. Lots of others only lurk now.Hmmmm.

Just ticklin' the Spyder's belly to see if it will jump.

Well, Kahz went temporarily AWOL because she was moving and would be away from a computer for a bit. She commented that she would return in a couple months, which is pretty soon.

Red Tornado has vanished entirely, as has Hoosier. There was a post where someone claiming to be Hoosier impersonated Sharp1, but that doesn't fit.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

KK is still around, at least I think he is...

As to Kahz, the little mouse is currently moving up north to the 51st state. But the problem being, is she's going to Ontario!!!
Shouldn't be too long for her.

But NOTE: I'll be gone is just over a month! June 29th-Aug17th, I'll be on Staff with Air Cadets. 7 weeks without my knives or a computer. I'll go crazy. So as therapy, I'm buying 6 or 7 from Linda when I get back.

S&S-Yes sir- eee! Sharp1 became the mystery poster, then Hossierdaddy assumed the Sharp1 log-on name because Sharp1 left it available when he had no name. Then there was fire, brimstone fuelled by SpyderholicII and others, then Java came a preaching and apparently the last post from the "mystery man" aired, then Hoosierdaddy proper and his last then the assumed sharp1 last post by Hossierdaddy and the dissapearance of red tornado, Kahz and more. Following this? I used to be sharp1, but had to reincarnate as 103, since my name was jacked. No big deal.

When Carlos piped in and said he was going to quell the "wasting bandwidth" controversy raging on the "where was I..." thread by ratting us out to Sal, everything got suddenly real quiet (as in I'm telling Dad on you guys). Sal surfaced briefly but did not address the "Where was I..." post issues.

Now we are back to a mixture of knife lore and some not-so-interesting topics.Fine and dandy. Takes all kinds.

KK-wow, you posted. Can't start a mystery thread yet, so no clues left here....this time.

Where is Chinook, Blades, Tique and all them dudes? And what is GH giving away? Why?

How come the pics on this forum are giving so many so much grief?

Hoosiersharp103,

Should have put nine and four together and come up with your ident a while back.....<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

103 does too rhyme (more or less) with identity.

Good to see/read ya and know where you're coming from and happy to see KK hovering in the background as well. Never had the chance to exchange views and pleasantries with Kahz but look forward to her return. VW stay safe in your defense of the Great White North. Peace on ye all, lads and lasses!

103,

Since I last "stated" I would no longer post here and waste the "PRECIOUS" Bandwidth I'll make this semi brief. I have been lurking here on occasion, but no where near the time I use to spend here! Got a laugh out of the whole KP thing, (no it was definately not me!) and other incidents. In a nutshell it's summer time, got a new BITCHEN (read expensive) Mountain Bike. Been riding like a fool, a fast fool! One of my other gigs is Jet Skiing, they call me the "WaterPuppy". Love the water, when I'm not riding one, I'm on the other. So lets just say, see you when it gets COLD! (BURRRRR!)

I thought it was a great joke to steal your identity when you became the mystery poser, oh I mean poster, or do I? I thought it was very Hipocritical of you to say I took some new identity and slipped through the cracks, when you were the one to ASSUME a new forumite. Then Samo welcomed you to the forum, thinking you were a "newbie". If you want the "Sharp1" identity back then e-mail me with the details on how to remove it. I would be more than happy to let you have it back! Just remember 103, if you want to mess with people expect to get messed with back <img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> !

S&S,

It was me (read above for explanation) as Sharp1, you got to admit it was a good one!!!

Java,

That's MR. HoosierSharp103 to you! <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I've been reading a few of your posts, couldn't have said it better myself! Keep up the good work!

Maybe I'll be back in November.

Hossierdaddy,
Sounds like your hobbies are keeping you busy. That is what life is all about. I don't want the Sharp1 handle back. Thanks for the kind offer though. I am not trying to finger-point at all; just trying to smooth over any remaining confusion. Like you said, SAMO was not apparently keeping-up with our follies. Just so everyone now knows: I, 103, am the spyderco collector formerly known as "Sharp1".

As to the thread of horror that caused such a division amongst the ranks: Either you get it or you don't. Clay, Java, GH, Chinook, Blades, HD and lots of others groked the whole deal.

PS-KK; the secret word is "Bolster", which rhymes with....

103,
Interesting and somewhat esoteric use of the vernacular. I've heard it applied in a negative fashion a la Kubrick as well. Ouch! This cerebral foray is painin' my brain. Keep posting on, 103. Keep posting on! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

For those unfamiliar with the term:
Robert A. Heinlein coined the word "grok" in his 1961 novel Stranger in a Strange Land. Essentially, "to grok something" means to understand it so intimately that it becomes a part of oneself.

KK,
That's an inside one there. Can't help you, buddy. I could probably rhyme bolster but since I'm such an oldster, according to some pollster, my thought's best left in its holster. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

It's late....putting brain back in box..... Did someone mention coffee??? Hey that's my cue! Java..Joe..Mud..

Stay safe! Stay sharp! But don't stay up so late <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Java,

Bring it on Be atch!!!

I recently bought a 02 Specialized Enduro Expert FSR, with most of the bells and whistles. Weighs just under 30 lbs. (XL frame BTW) pretty light for what it is.

Anytime you're ready for a little "ride" lets go... I'll pass by you so fast, I'll turn that Gary Fisher Paragon into a PARADOX!!! <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

BTW isn't Texas mostly flat? Like are you even capable of climbing hills? <img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I've had this bike for a little over a month and have 245 miles on so "fer". So if you think you're up to the challenge...

Bring it on Be atch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hoosiersnapper,

You sound like all them other betties.!! Always wanting a piece of my action. Rippin' and cuttin' ,buddy, rippin' and cuttin'. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

FSR's a fine piece of machinery. When you learn its limitations, you too will modify and improve your performance. Race Face, Avid 2.0, and all XTR the Para-gone, as in s'cuse the dust, weighs in at 18 lbs with the Judy springin' a full 110mm.

Ahhh! I see you've fallen to the great left coast self belief - anywhere besides Calie or Colo is flat as a griddlecake. Texas has a few lumps called hills and actually a couple of 5,000 ft points they call mountains but for the most part I reckon I'll have to agree with you - Texas is as flat as my baby sister. Nice single track at Cedar Hill here and down around Austin with some pretty technical stuff mixed in all over. What we lack in continuous uphill we make up for in punishing technical up-n-down. Maybe not up to the average Calie joy ride but if you're in SoCal, until you ride the Devil's Punch Bowl and live to tell us about it best be puttin' at least 400/month (and I don't count road miles) on that Spec Bike!! <img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

This is great Hoosier! Wish I was back home to take you up on on it. Are you in Northern or Southern Cal?? My home town, Morgan Hill, CA, is Specialized HQ, by the way. The FSR was my first choice but Fisher priced them out. California's a beautiful state and the riding rocks! Cherish what ya got, my agro bro! Live to ride! Ride to live!

Well, <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>-rider, we're about as far from Spydies as you can get, unless you're main bike tool is a TS02 <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>ench. Keep us all posted! Drop me an e-mail if you want and ride on, bro, ride on! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Stay safe! Stay sharp!
