What you DON'T like?

It may seem an odd question for a forum of this profile, but I've been wondering if there is anyone who will admit that he/she doesn't like a particular type of . As someone here likes to say "we all operate on different levels of perfection", and I'm aware of that. I just read so many posts of "I love my model..." but none to say "I don't like that model"... For instance, with all do respect, I don't like neither the Ocelot, nor the Vesuvius. It just won't match my personality, I think, and I reassure you that I don't intend to offend anyone by saying this. If there is a model you don't like, I'd be interested to know also some reasons why.

My least favorites would have to be the Shabaria and the MeerKat. The Shabaria absolutely turns me off in looks, while the Meerkat looks vaguely toylike to me.

I like 99% of what puts out, these two just don't appeal to me.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

BLASPHEMY!!! J/K

If I had to choose I would say the Ladybug I, because the Jester eliminates the need for it, sorta

I don't think it's a case of "not liking" them, but I have yet to buy a "tip down" only model. It's more a case that my first was tip up, I got used to that arrangement, and I'm sticking with it. Even that may change someday - I'm often tempted to buy a SS Police just because it's such a Spyderco classic. Who knows......

I hate the Vesuvius Forum model, just because it's not in my hands yet...

The Native. It just looks to small and stumpy, and the blade looks funny. I like the looks of the Pride(? full size Native), but the Native is not for me.

A fair question, we're not just sheep after all

There are two knives that I have never handled but at the momment couldn't imagine buying just on looks alone, and they are the Sabaria and the Toad, I just don't like their lines.

I'm a little sceptical of the Salsa, if only because of the cobra hood. Spyderco designs to me seem to typefied by clean simple lines, but I'm afraid the cobra hood seems like a bit of a kludge.
The pepper emblem doesn't help as that also seems to be at odds with what I consider another of Spyderco's qualities, "serious tools for serious people".

Usually because I have to buy all my knives mail order I have always felt that once I get a Spyderco in the hand the reality far outshines the catalogue picture. The only exception to date (and it may be contrivertial) is the Mouse. It's undoubtably an excellent knife and I don't regret buying it, but I also don't regret swapping it for a CF Cricket. For some reason the Mouse just didn't "do it" for me.

Other than that I would be proud to have all other Spyderco's (past and present) in my collection.

The Shabaria... it's odd handle shape just doesn't work in my hands.

The salsa just looks "stumpy". I have only seen pics from the side, and have yet to handle one myself, but don't think I'll buy one.

LBK II, no point to having that shape of blade on somehting that small.

The Toad-to small easy to cut myself same goes for the mouse although I think I would have liked it if I had smaller hands. The Salsa,it just does not feel good in my hand. There is a couple of others that I don't like the looks of but I haven't handled them so I don't want to say I don't like them,I did that with the Native and it turned out to be one of my favorites.

So far I'm not too sure about the Forum Vesuvius. It's beautiful!!! (you guys/gals yet to get them be patient) but I'm not sold on the compression lock. It's kinda stiff and sticky and recess is a bit small and in an odd position. Maybe just not enough break in yet. Only the lock is in question. Maybe I just need break'in. Otherwise I can't say I dislike any SpyderCo knife I have or have handled. Sure like all that I own.

I just traded my Native for a rifle scope. It never did fit my hand.

The blackhawk and renegade. Just too small/thin for my hand.

Not true Dialex! read my earlier post about the lil temperance. we al have different reasons what ever they may be for liking a particular model...some designs just dont suit us ala the temperance..im sure its a very well made knife and i do love the compression lock..but i think its butt ugly lol sorry guys! Im also not keen on the salsa, i lean more towards the working type designs like the police , milli, endura, delica, native, and i saw someone say that the native didnt appeal..in my case its 1 of my favorites....just different strokes for different folks.. It's an odd world
That's 2 people who didn't get on with the Native, yet I consider it in the top 5 of all time Spyderco designs

Jaxon
Yep, the Vesuvius takes some breaking in, but the effort is worth it. I too had some issues when I first got it, mainly do to the tight compression lock and small recess. Now the compression lock is very slick (but I'd have to admit I still think the recess is a tad too small).
This knife has grown on me so much I'm thinking of getting a 50/50 (my first ever) version as a backup.
