Post by brandondferrier »

i have a disease; and it's called spyderco fever.
i just want to buy all their knives.
the uk pen kniefe is on the way to my house! and im already in the market for another spyderco!
my next knife im planning on getting is the temperance 2 or the woodlander to take in the woods with me.
what do you spyderco people love to take in the woods with you or camping?
im looking for suggestions or reasons why you take the knife you do.

I have the UKPK Rescue orange... that i ordered by mistake, trying to get the regular
UKPK in safety orange.

I also have the Urban Wharncliffe in safety orange.

The Slipits are very nicely done. It's good to have a knife that you can carry when abroad. (and orange rocks!) :) So the Rescue fits right in, just don't let him know he was a mistake!

When I head into the woods for hiking or backpacking I usually take a fixed-blade that I made myself, but I always have a Spyderco folder with me as well. Today it was the Para2. If you look real, real, real close you can see Golden Colorado about 35 miles in the background.

Temp2 would be great for the woods, very versatile. Bushcraft would be better for any kind of wood cutting, but you must take care of it, don't let it stay wet or soiled. Always with a super sharp SG Delica, then maybe the Bradley to round it all out.

Those would be my picks even though I don't camp too much anymore.

If I could only take one it would be the bushcraft. Haven't checked to see if anyone is selling their seconds at a decent price, but I know that it works well :D

I was just talking about this the other day...

I bought a Micro Dyad(Black Pearl) on Sunday night. Monday morning, not even a full 24 hours I was already back on the B/S/T's looking for another spydie to buy.

I also knew it was bad when I had a Orange Manix 2 sitting on my desk still cold from being in the mailbox yet I went back on to the B/S/T's and ebay to see if I should buy something else.

Its sick I tell ya!

But yah... your not alone.

Yeah I know how it goes, luckily sometimes I go through buying spurts. Bad new is I am in one of those "spurts" and it is kind of getting a bit heavy.

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

its not bad until you buy 47 knives at one time!! Thats when I knew I hit rock bottom, or the top I can't decide.

Delica and Endura are great knives! They're the low priced crack samples that'll get you hooked on spyderco! Feed the need!
