Holy smokes!! The GITD up for auction is fetching the highest price I've ever seen for a new knife--maybe higher than any folder since last time a WTC knife went up.

I approve. Didn't realize how slick the handle material would be though.
Sweet! :D Are you the first person to receive it who isn't in the Collectors Club? Seems like it to me.

I just went to my post office to pick mine up. I told the lady there that I know this is here but it wasnt scanned in yet. After 10 min of her digging around she came out with this great knife. I love it. I couldnt ask for more. I wanted to thank Jon and Spyderco for doing this. Also the guy who put the edge on my blade... It is perfect :D

Just got mine in the mail. It's really cool! Awesome knife. I was also expecting the usual grip texture, but I don't mind the smooth scales. The Manix 2 has plenty of jimping to still get a good grip. The fit & finish on this one is great. Probably the smoothest operating Manix 2 I own. :D

The status for mine is "shipped". Don't know when it will get here but that's ok. Been looking forward to this for a while so another week won't be a problem.

The G10 and CF come from the manufacturer with the textured surface, I believe. This stuff didn't...so it is what it is. And it is cool, wow. I bought this one because I was curious - well, I guess you can figure whether $135 is too much for that purpose or not, but I've decided it was worth the tariff. This stuff is the most amazing GITD material I've yet seen, tritium gas capsules included.

A note on the lock - this one is identical to my orange CS LE, and very different from all the other (too many!) Manix 2s I've accumulated. So, it seems these two have the adjusted lock that Sal and Eric mentioned a while back. One thing they have in common is that they need more effort to unlock the ball, compared to earlier Manix 2s.

My box was squashed also...oh well. Many thanks to Spyderco and Jon for a truly unique knife. :)

I've gotten every Manix 2 variant to date except for the Stag Arms version. I just can't get over the huge logo and lettering. I also don't care for coated blades but I hate to leave a hole in my collection. I may break down and get one despite my dislikes.
I personally LOVE the color on the scales of the Stag Arms model. I don't mind the look of the black blade on there, but I also don't care for coated blades in general as I feel they add more resistance when cutting.

I definitely also agree about the huge logo, which even sticks out when the knife is closed. I'd love to get one, if only Spyderco would paint over that logo for me...

S30V, FFG, dark green scales for a change, probably milled out liners (I'm assuming). Sooo close to perfect.

I think you two guys need to cheer up just a little. :D Congrats on the knives. I was wondering how comfortable it is sleeping with them under your pillow? :D again.

Seriously, I was wondering how bright the glow is. From the pictures and one video I watched of someone charging the scale with a BRIGHT flashlight the knife seemed to be bright enough to read a book by if you held it up to the page. Is it that bright? This is the first glow-in-the-dark knife I've heard of even though there are probably more out there. How long does it glow after charging it?

I charged mine with a bright flashlight before going to bed. It is probably bright enough to read a book with. I woke up after 5 hours of total darkness, and it was still glowing at least as bright as the tritium locator in the flashlight next to it on the nightstand.
