Delica Number 9

#1

Post by jackburton9807 »

A very nice fellow forumite just sent me a G10 D4 for no apparent reason. This is a great rendition of the Delica and just a great knife in general. My oly complaint is the G10 has a lot of gription so I have difficulty drawing the knife with anything that resembles the speed of my FRN models. Aside from that, no complaints whatsoever, it's every thing I hoped it would be. Thanks much Marty.

Jeff

I was hoping I could post a pic of the Delica family but am apparently not clever enough to do it from the iPad. Shame. I'll take a whack at home.

Yeah, if you're at all a Delica fan, I would score one.

You are correct, sir. I switched them out. No so much because I wanted the black blade/handle. I wanted a black handle on the FG blade.

A Delica in any incarnation sounds like a good idea to me. I don't know much about the ZDP, I am feeling the need to get on the bandwagon though.

Well, i'm sure you've seen some of the reviews. It can be a pain to sharpen but "you get what you sharpen for".

Well, things just got better. I removed the clip and polished the G10 that lives below it with 600 then 1500 grit paper. Now I can draw it at least as fast as my FRN models. Perfect. This thing just went form safe queen to EDC. Again, thanks, Marty. If I hit the lotto I'm flying you to Spain with me to fix my neck and back and then consume many Spanish beers on the Costa Del Sol. Maybe open a :spyder: store just to give us a reason to stay.

Maybe now onto ZDP just for the sake of a complete collection, right Evil?

Why not? You may be pleasantly surprised. I have a lot of knife purchases to make first but i do plan on buying some various Delicas to frankenstein into my own personalized version.
