Blue Stretch: Crazy knife

#1

Post by chuck_roxas45 »

When I got my blue stretch in the mail I was kind of disappointed by the size of the folder because it seemed just a little bigger than my "small" EDC, which is the persistence. I was thinking nevermind, at least I have better steel. When I opened the blade, it seemed that the blade was a lot bigger than on the persistence. So I took out my persistence and my point and shoot.

Now here are both knives open. With the blades open the stretch seems almost endura sized.

So the stretch has displaced the persistence in my LFP as my "small" EDC. Also as has been mentioned a lot, it feels really good and confidence inspiring in the hand. The stretch sure is one crazy knife. :D

Definitely wouldn't call it a small edc, but it is a very ergonomic knife. :)

The stretch is a great EDC. I still carry a CF Stretch regularly. Great ergonomics, great blade size, shape, and awesome steel!

Yes, I would say that the Stretch (like the Gayle Bradley) is a small knife.

If you compare it to the Military or the Police LOL.
Glad you got one, I think you will really appreciate it in use.
Thanks,

Mine replaced a Mini-Griptilian so I would say it is a big EDC knife for me. Alot more blade, not much more weight. I really like it.

It carries like a persistence and feels quite smaller than an endura in the pocket so yes, small.

The stretch really isn't for me, since I'd have to go on camping trips just to use it, but it really makes the best use of handle and blade geometries of just about any knife I've ever seen. So much slice, so little space.

I was also surprised at the size of the Stretch when I got mine. It just looks like it's so much smaller in pictures. What impressed me the most was how it didn't feel nearly as large as it was in hand. At first I didn't think I was going to use it as much, but now it will hardly leave my pocket!

I ordered the Stretch in the blue that was discontinued and my wife took it away to wrap it up

for Christmas. She could have just wrapped the empty box.

Congrats! :D
Yes, it's the smallest "big" knife I have. My carbon fiber/ZDP is thinner than my Black FRN/VG10 Stretch, so it's like carrying a Sage or etc. It's a small :) knife.

I actually bought a CF Stretch first, and while it is a beautiful knife, it was a little thin to fit my hand comfortably. It also was a bit heavier than I wanted in this knife.

So, I sold it to a very nice gent, and then picked up a blue FRN model on the bay. Its thicker handle and lighter weight do suit me better, so I'm a happy camper. :)

The only thing about the blue Stretch that bothered me was easily cured. The edges of the FRN along the opening were sharp, but a few light passes with a small nail file rounded them off just fine.
