Question for collectors...

#1

Post by Shenmue728 »

Got a question of the value of my Swick. This is the wharnie second run and it is NIB and still in the plastic and cardboard sheath. Does this make it more valuable or less valuable to a collector? My basis of comparison is action figures in a blister pack or out of package OR are they like resin painted statues where they must be out of box and inspected before it can be soLd? Thanks for the responses.

Just speaking for myself, as long as the knife is NIB, and you have the original box the rest of the package would not make a big difference.

I'd say it's more valuable with the box, plastic, and cardboard sheath, but that opening them for inspection is probably wise and should not affect value. Not all collectors are reasonable, or even rational, some will say "NIB" for a folder means unopened, but then badmouth a seller if there's an imperfection in the grind which could only have been spotted by opening the knife.
