PPT First Impressions

#1

Post by Bushbadger »

I just received the new PPT today. First impressions are very good. It's a great looking knife, incredible fit and finish and feels great in the hand. The G10 is very grippy without being rough. It is a chunky little knife, doesn't feel too heavy at all to me. I've walked around the house with it in my pocket and it feels fine, it is more noticable in the pocket than the Paramilitary, but not by much. I'll probably remove the lanyard as I'm not a big fan of them.
I can see this becoming a favourite of mine, for me the size is perfect :)

Nice shots badger, thanks.
Looking at your "in hand" one, I see plenty of handle length. What would you consider your hand size as being sml, med, lg ?

Keep us up dated.

Wow, seeing the knife in hand is certainly different that in a catalog photo. I may have to get this one...

Awesome. Can we see a width shot as compared to, say...an Endura and Manix 2?

I have fairly large hands and the handle on the PPt is a good size, a bit shorter than the Paramilitary.

You sure can :) My Manix is a bit thicker than standard 'cos I rescaled it, I don't have any Endura's so I put the Paramilitary in there too.

Thanks for posting those pics. It's actually not as thick as I imagined.

Did you rescale that manix with the camo yourself?

Just saw it in your album, looks awesome and nice work Marcus!

Great pics! Would it be possible to get a shot of it closed, compared to a delica, or the manix 2?

Not bad. If I can move one more knife I will have room for this one. First time in a long time I've bought a knife sight unseen.
Ask me where I got my awesome SUPERHAWK!

More like Mid-Cal now

Is the spacer made form steel, or something lighter (Al, some sort of plastic)?

I believe the backspacer is steel, the liners are skeletonized.

I don't own either of those knives but here's one of it next to a Blade Tech Ganyana Lite, it has a 99mm closed length. I've looked at the Delica's closed length on the Spyderco catalog and it's the same as the PPT, 108mm as I've measured it.

Yes, the lock side liner is thicker than the non-locking side.
