I found a syperco clipit "Hunter" left hand plain edge 1003L-PLN in a antique store cheap and picked it up. But I can't find any info on it. It is new in boc with original foil, never used. On the clip it has "US patent 4347665 foreign pats pending" but no spyder logo. Was wondering the value or when it was made. For any info I would be gratful. I also purchaed by mistake and did not realize it was a left hand, and may wnat to sell.

Great snag  Isn't it a great feeling when you come across one out of the blue like that. I once found a Jess Horn LW NIB in a box of misc stuff at a gun show. It was the only knfe in that box. My lucky day!
Can't help you with the value. I'll leave that to more seasoned forumities.

Here you should find some basic info on the model:

As far as price goes, check ebay to see what they are going for nowadays.

Nice find, but unfortunately the Hunter is not one of Spyderco's highly collectible models, so even a fairly uncommon version of it is not going to be worth an awful lot.

Actually I am not trying to sell it. If I decide to sell it I would put it on ebay, and not try to sell it in a backhanded way. I had trouble signing up for the forum, and ended up posting it two different ways.... I did not think the first post took. Not super great at computers.

I could not locate any info on it and was trying to find out if it was a snag or not, found the forum...thought it would be a way to try info in it.

Thought I would go to the experts????

So, I think the concensus is, great find as far as difficulty, but don't expect a lot of profit if you should try to flip it. Keep and use it, or if you are not left-handed, gift it to a good friend who is a lefty.

I've been hoping to find a left-hand hunter, as I'm left handed, and the first Spydie I ever owned was a right-handed hunter. When might you be putting it on the bay?
