Spyderco 12-Month Calendar Contest
Joyce, one more questions, is there a preference for the orientation of the picture (landscape or portrait), or doesn't that matter?Joyce Laituri wrote:Yes, please post your image here in this thread but keep a (high res) file of it yourself until the contest is over. If you win, we will contact you for a high resolution file suitable for printing.
Your artwork can include (available or discontinued) single knives, multiple knives, Spyderco bugs anything Spyderco. :spyder:
Please include the name of the knife/knives somewhere in your post either in the image or below the image. This helps anyone looking at it know which model it is and model name and number will be included in the printed calendar.
Thanks for playing and we're looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
Joyce :)
Thanks,
Ted

Yet another couple questions, Joyce. You stated that the copies of the winning entries which are submitted for publication must be 300 dpi. I would assume there is also a minimum size requirement since, for example, a 640 X 480 photo even at that resolution might not print well. If that assumption is correct, what is the minimum size? Also, expanding on Ted's portrait or landscape question, is a specific aspect ratio, such as 4 X 3 or 5 X 4, required?

Thanks for the contest. Here's my entry. :)
Edited my image (same image) as to include the Model Name in the photo as the rules state. --I do have the image without the text on it in case that is an issue.
Also edited to add that I'd like to wish well to everyone who submits a picture for this contest. There are some really good photographers here at this forum.
Good luck folks

I had to re-read the rules and I stated that is why I edited my pic.

As did I, I forgot to add on the Name, so I fixed it, that is why I also edited my post.David Lowry wrote:I did, and so did rwl1979777.

Re-read this part that Joyce posted. The way I understand it, she says you do not need to include the name/model in the image. But you do need to include it in the text of your post below the image.rlw1979777 wrote:As did I, I forgot to add on the Name, so I fixed it, that is why I also edited my post.
(see Jazz's post for an example of this, <s>though with the name above the image instead of below</s>)Joyce Laituri wrote:Please include the name of the knife/knives somewhere in your post either in the image or below the image. Spyderco Cowboy
OK, my calendar entry will be my first post (and first attempt at posting an attachment). Hope all goes well!
The cowdog is named Tasha, the Cowboy is Llano Jim, and the Spyderco is the Endura 4 FFG.
