obscure spydie

I finally found a Flat Iron Folder! Been looking for one for a while and I love it. It has a nice blade shape and the handle fits nice in my hand! I like combo edges because you can cut rope and use the serrations when you need to and the front half is for your plain edge duties. I didn't think I would find one because they are never anywhere for sale. Maybe it's because everyone who had one never wanted to get rid of it

Nice catch! Never managed to land one of those. What does the Spyderco emblem in the handle read?

Yes, the handle says Clip it , Flat-Iron
the blade tang says Spyderco ATS-55 and the other side says Seki City Japan
and it has the old style frn clip which is the wider one with inscribed US and foreign patents. The only downside is I actually prefer metal clips
and a boye dent on the lock which this model doesn't have.
other than than, its pretty sweet!

That's gorgeous! I've never heard of it either. I love the blade, handle - everything. When was it made? I'd buy a sprint run of that! Congratulations on your score.

- best wishes, Jazz.

Makes me miss mine! That was my very first Spydie. Great score Genius!

@Jazz: Somewhere around '94-96 "ish", I ordered mine directly from Ironstone in 95.

Love shape of the blade on that one. An updated version would be something else.

A saber grind calypso blade on an endura handle? Is this one of the earlier leaf-style blades?
