Spyderco Military... "He", "She", or "It"?

#1

Post by Water Bug »

Here's an off-the-wall-question...

Do you consider the Spyderco Military a male, female, or it?

Do you refer to the Military as "he", "she", or "it"?

To me, the Military is female. Why?

Well, she is long, sleek, and elegant in design, has nice curves, and is quite graceful in my hand. And, she is often referred to by many as "Millie".

How about you?

Same here. Whenever I get bit by a Spydie of mine, the first words out of my mouth are, "You little b____!"

Don't tell that to billions of people who speak Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Hindi, etc. Big list of languages that assign gender to objects here.

As for me, I prefer that my knives are feminine. I don't want anything else masculine in my pants but me! :p

I agree with the OP about nice curves and sleekness of the Millie. Plus both women and knives are great but both can hurt like ****.

The difference is that you know knives are dangerous, but forget that about women.

Knives also have simple rules for safe operation. Women are thrall to the Chaos Gods.

Well, it is pretty and dangerous, but it's not unpredictable. I went with it.

I am a french speaking dude . We use feminine for houses (Une maison), paintings (Une peinture) and salads (Une salade)... And cars:

- "une Kia" (feminine)

- "Une Ford" (Feminine)...... (although some old folks say "Un Ford")

- "Une Camaro" (Feminine)

We use masculine for a computer (Un ordinateur) , landscape (Un aménagement paysager), drawings (Un dessin)....and trucks :

- "Un Ford" (masculine)

- "Un Mack" (masculine)

- "Un Peter Built" (Masculine)

Knives ??? Here in Quebec (the only French country in North America), Usually masculine:

- "Un Couteau" (masculine)

But...

- "Une machette" (Feminine)
