A couple of weeks ago I purchased a Calypso

jr. FRN PE. I have never seen anything that

cuts like that. Now I'm looking for something

bigger with the same performance. Has anybody got some experience with a Military or a Moran drop point ?

Your best bet would be a Calypso Sr.

Depending on what you want to spend, here are a few ideas to consider:

1. SS Police
2. Military
3. Starmate
4. Calypso
5. SS Endura

Of course, the Calypso Jr. is a great "utility" model, so it kind of depends on what size of knife you are looking for too. Just make sure it says Spyderco on the blade and you can't go wrong!

Hi Vanman.

If you like the blade style of the Calypso Jnr Lwt try the Lum Chinese folder, you can even find some of the gunmetal blue ones for sale.

Can't go wrong with the Military for a large heavy duty EDC folder...If you don't want to spend the bucks might I suggest the VG10 Endura instead..I can vouch for both.

I've been carrying the Military everyday since I purchased it five years ago... Excellent knife with lots of belly. Don't let its simple appearance fool you. The Millie packs is plenty! Its a high-performance knife that never quits!

Mmmmm... Drop point Moran eh? Well, you can't go wrong on picking this fixed blade! Its one of the best Spydies I've ever handled in the field. The VG-10 steel gives you a bang for your buck!

For an overall hard-use blade, I'd pick the Endura FRN. It's a great design, premium VG-10 steel, and is inexpensive enough (~$50 US) to replace if you lose it.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

If it's cuttin' you want then there is only one knife in the
entire Spyderco that will match the little Calypso. That is
it's bigger brother the Large Calypso. This is an absolutly
scary cutter. The large is the only knife I own I won't "play"
with. Been cut to many times.

If you can't find one then ........get an Endura with the Vg-10
blade it's a close second.

Large and small Calypsos are a great pair to carry. Since you have the PE Calypso jr, get the Spyderedge and you are covered for any situation. My second choice would be the SE or CE Military.
