Have you ever had a liner lock open on you during carry?
Have you ever had a liner lock open on you during carry?
Anyone here ever had a liner lock (not frame lock) open when it was either loose in your pocket or clipped?
In addition to the poll.... did you end u cutting yourself/your pocket/pants as a result?
Please note that the poll allows multiple responses in case it has happened you you with more than one knife.
Thanks

Never happened to me, but in my opinion #1 and #2 in your poll are the same thing :)

Carried the Military at work one day and my keys are on a belt clip and the key
got stuck inside the Spydie hole and when I went to pull my keys off my belt it brought the knife blade up and sliced a nice slit in my pant pocket near the fly. This had happened a couple of times previous but did no damage had occurred until this. I just don't carry the Military to work anymore.

Use your blades in the kitchen, it's great bonding time!

i think i get what he means. :)Jay_Ev wrote:but in my opinion #1 and #2 in your poll are the same thing :)
i think he meant a cheapo with a liner lock that you might exspect it to happen and a non spydie but still a top quality knife. like a benchmade with a liner lock that is an exspensive quality knife that you wouldnt exspect it to happen as you dropped a fortune on it. :)

The only liner lock I've carried for a significant amount of time was a first-generation Benchmade mini-AFCK (812S). I carried it basically every day from October 1997 to May 2005, so about 7.5 years total. Never had it open (or close) accidentally.
After I retired the mini-AFCK in 2005, my EDC knives have mostly been BM AXIS locks or Spyderco lock-backs (with a few Spyderco ball and compression lock knives), so I haven't carried a liner-lock since then. None of them have ever opened (or closed) accidentally either.

The closest thing I had was a Kershaw OD-1 that had almost no blade retention but it was a warranty item that got fixed for free. Any hard knock on the knife would bump the blade out. I never carried it in that condition.

No, but that may be at least partly due to the only one I ever carry being carried in the bottom of my back pocket, with the blade on top.
