butterfly

Howdy,

Butterfly knives- I really don't need one. However, it might be fun to have one for around the house chores/fun.

I don't watch the forum religously. The best I recall, Sal said in November(?) that they were working on prototypes. I am sure this must be a long process, but I am curious if there is any new progress?

I wonder how much interest there is in a Spyderco Butterfly knife?

Take care,

stu

There's a lot of interest, I just "bumped" a topic to the top concerning it, a recent topic.
You might wanna check it out <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

But the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> overall design and makeup makes the butterfly obsolete!!!!!

So the butterfly knife may soon be put in the black hole of history!!!

Lets hope so...(Pachucks cringes, turns, then flees as the others howl nasty words and hurl pointy objects in his direction.)

Maybe as a collector type deal.

I'm only going to half agree with Big-Target, because I really want a Spyder-bali <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

One thing I will say is that I don't really see the need for automatics when you have a spydi. Even without handle drops and wrist flicks my my Viele and Chinese Folder are so slick it's frightening how fast and easy they open with the thumb and round hole.

There's a hole in the sky where the rain comes in, it's a very small hole that's why rain's so thin - In memory of the Goons

If you follow that line though, then the spydies are obsolete because of the Emerson Wave.....
There are a lot of different things that you can do with a good bali that you cant with another knife, and even BRAM appreciates them and used then when designing the Gunting.

I handle the Emerson wave once, at a CJ Carraci seminar(sponsored By the American Tomahawk Company). And I must admit, I wasn't impressed with it, But there was a variation of it, Carraci owned, and it was made with a "spyderhole". THAT did have some possiblities!
Me thinks sal should talk deal with Emerson!!

i personally cant wait to get a spyder-bali
and on the emerson wave it is rough on your pants but it is easy to pull out of your pocket without opening (you just slide it forward a bit so the hook dont catch)all in all i guess i would love to see a glesser/emerson colab. those two guys could really come up with a cool knife or two
