This is another classic that Sal brought back. Maybe we could see it in the burnt orange FRN with HAP40? I think the Superblue sprint sold well.

Of all the short bladed Spyderco models over the years I don't know of any of them that are requested for return more than the Caly Jr. is. Oh I do hear requests for the Meerkat, CoPilot, Kopa and Dodo. But the Caly Jr. gets more requests to return than any of them.

They use the C-36 Military and Para2 for the GOLDEN models to introduce new blade steels to the line up. I personally always thought that the Caly JR would be the best Japan made unit for that same purpose. My Burgundy Caly JR with ZDP-189 is awesome. I don't think they could have had a better pick to introduce a new super blade steel with.

Also the Caly Jr. is a nice EDC to have around "non-knife" people that get spooked easily. Again I'm surprised it never became a permanent Spyderco model.
