What is the name of a Case CV knife, pattern # 048? It's a 2000 model with yellow synthetic handles that someone gave me. I tried checking the site, but I couldn't find the chart that tells you what the pattern numbers are. Also, could you please tell me where to find out the pattern numbers for future reference? Thanks.

Sorry to "barge in" but you might want to
ask the people at www.bladeforums.com <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>. They are helpful to me when I get stumped.

All Hail Spyderco !
Switchblades BAD, <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>'s GOOD !

ATE,

I was just curious.....

Why do you think that switchblades are bad? The truth is, the knife itself isn't bad, its just the person that uses (or misuses) it. A Glock isn't a bad gun, but it becomes a dangerous when it gets into the hands of a maniac.

I am thinking about getting a fully-automatic Benchmade 350 by Mel Pardue. Its only $139 at a web site I found. I will have to sign at least 5 pages of legal forms to get it though.<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Just curious, bro. Nothing serious!;P

Let's see...Case #048, in CV...(pages through refence book) Aha! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> It's a Case Barehead Slimline Trapper, model #31048.

As for finding out the numbers, call/write/email Shepherd Hills (www.casexx.com) and ask for a catalog. All currently produced Cases are there, with Case model numbers.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Thanks everybody. You're not barging in at all, ATE, and thanks for the suggestion. I just knew that Sword and Shield was a big Case fan and thought he might know. Oh, BTW, ATE, you wouldn't happen to be the forum member formerly known as Allen E. Treat, would you? (since you have the same initials and style of writing)

Glad I could be of service, clip. You definitely have me pegged right as a big Case fan, I love the suckers! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Now if only Case & Spyderco could do a bit of a collaboration (commences dreaming of a Spyder-Sod Buster). <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> In 440V and green Micarta of course!

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

ATTN: SpyderNut- I'd have to agree with ATE on the switchblade thingie. Not bad blades, but why bother? In need of self defense, you need to fish around in your pocket, mess with the safety and then open. By then, a <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> could be out an' bytin'. But that's just me, and I could be wrong. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
