Who didn't get a Forum Native that wants one?

Post by Fred Sanford »

Alright folks, who didn't get a forum Native that wanted one?

I got somethin' for ya. ;)

If you already got one please don't post here. I have a general idea already of who needs one after searching through a boatload of posts.

I wanted one but ended up missing out because of school.

It's 80 days until graduation and senior project, an internship, and a job make it hard to get to the internet or phone when I need to for stuff like this.

After 7 years of school I'm finally graduating this December with my bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.

I would of liked to get one.
But no work = no $$ for extras.

I had a couple of nibbles but nothing yet.

Looks like I missed again. Well, there's next year.

My family and I are very blessed. Rather than try to make a bunch of dough I would rather pay it forward. I'm thankful to God for His blessings.

Way to go David!
I traded a NIB Forum knife and a NIB Green ZDP Delica to a forum member for 3 used knife's. "I am very happy with BTW"
(wont say who, as it does not matter)
And got this reply. If I had known the situation, it too would have been a gift.
Please don't ask who, and sender do not reply here or to me.
Just had to share. As this place really is special.

"I wanted to say thank you for offering these up for trade. I had been following the Forum knife every since it was first announced. There has been allot of bad things happening the last 2 years and it continues to get worse. Juggling bills is hard enough and there sure isn't any left over for entertainment or hobbies (knives). On top of everything else my wife has been real sick and they do not know what is wrong with her. I had resolved myself to the fact that I would never see the 2009 Forum knife in person and that was ok because taking care of the family is far more important. By offering these in trade you have created a bright spot in an otherwise dismal time. Things may be looking up as I am looking at going back to college in Jan. providing that my wife's health improves enough for me to be gone that much and that I get enough financial aid to go. Thanks again for giving me an opportunity that I otherwise would not have had.

The next day, I got a reply from an old want add for a like new CF P/E Civilian at about 1/3 the going rate. A personal Grail I never thought I would find.

Related? Maybe. Do I care? No.
Plan to help out whenever can. ;)

I wanted one, but have been too busy to look for one myself. Very nice gesture of you to pass one along, Mr. Lowry

David, what're you studying? I'm in crunch mode myself, between interning (30+ hours a week), preparing for the GRE, and preparing for the ACSM Exercise Specialist exam (which I am required to take before I graduate). Next semester, I'll be in grad school for biomechanics.

Good luck on your studies, as well as anyone else that's in grind mode right now.

David,
I want to thank you so much for your generosity. God blesses those who bless others and I believe that, and as cliche as it may be, what goes around comes around! David may God continue to bless you and your family in every way possible! Good luck on your exams and may you pass with flying colors!
(In your words "Pay it Forward" I will be doing a give away of some sort on here :) )
Take care my friend!

Thanks for asking. I'm actually studying to pass 2 tests. I'm 36 years old and I already have been doing network/server stuff for about 10 years now. I am an MCSE, MCP+I, and Linux+. I'm looking to pass my CCNA test for Cisco and also an EMC test for their Celerra systems for storage and data movers.

I have about 1200 pages of dry crap to read in the next 20 days. Weeeeeee..... :)

Godspeed on your testing and journey also.
