Rock Salt bargain............

#1

Post by MCM »

Just ordered a Rock Salt from the "Shoppe" at a silly low price.

Had a Jumpmaster but sold it off. Just didnt fit my use's.

Question, I see the Jumpmaster MSRP is about $70.00 over the
Rock Salt's MSRP? Did the Rock Salt's price drop?

Looking forward to yet another great blade from Spyderco. :)

I do believe the Rock Salt is going to be discontinued, a reason why the price is soooo low. Nice buy though.

I believe they should have them in stock, if not, the Shoppe should be getting more in from suppliers (hopefully that is).

I wish the Shoppe would adopt a '...left in stock' or 'Temporarily out of stock' notification system like New Graham Knives has.

I've got one on the way. I bought one earlier this year and paid twice as much. Maybe from now on I will wait until closer to the end of the year before I buy high priced Spydies...

Wow, that's a nice price. I have no real use for a blade that big but it's tempting.

Checked around, went from "Suggested Retail: $379.95"
To MSRP of 199.00

They must be going away?

ahem... this thread has been very bad to my wallet...

I just placed an order on that site, for a Rock Salt, of course, a Forester, a Lava and several (more normally priced) other knives (Centofante3, 2 Bugs, a Victorinox manager and a BM42) and sharpeners (DMT XXC, Sharpmaker to replace the one I've just sold to a colleague).
I think it'll make more than $700 when they add international shipping.
But hey, it's been a long time since I last bought knives.

I'm just too weak when faced with such knives at such prices...

Don't worry, you are not the only that has done that before. A Spyderco addiction can be very bad for the wallet at times. Good buys though.

Soooo . . . . what is this "shoppe"?

Is there some reason for the reticence in naming the retailer?

edit - Ahh, The Cutlery Shoppe, figured it out.
Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

The "Shoppe" is not the full name of the store and they seem to be the only place that has the prices for the Rock Salt, Aqua Salt, Stretch CF, Caly CF, etc... I guess referring to the "Shoppe" lets people know where to buy it, possibly.
