I was going to buy a Chokwe but got an offer I couldn't refuse on a Manix 2 CF/S90V. I do hope to get a Chokwe soon, it is a very interesting design, and the history behind it gives it some mystique.

Don't you have photos to post? I thought you posted about getting an early run from Sal. Heck, yours should be a user by now for extra photo goodness.

Hey Jon,

Good to see others are excited about this knife. And you're in Cincinnati? I spent all summer working for P&G but I'm now going back to school in San Francisco.

Here's a link to my recent review. I got mine Tuesday. It's my new favorite knife.

And here's a pic for the thread!

Enthusiasm, Clovisc, I have an itch that I think can only be scratched by this knife.
Still patiently waiting for mine, but post's like quattro's are intensifying that itch, & now I am begining to wriggle & squirm.
Are we there yet, huh, are we there yet, huh huh, aww how much longer, are we there yet. :D there goes my patience. :)

Got mine yesterday. Very nicely made. Blade is centered. Lockup is solid. The RIL locks up at about 15 - 20%. Blade shape reminds me of the J.D. Smith. Blade is on the thin side so you shouldn't do heavy duty cutting IMO. It kinda feels like a large executive knife because of the thin blade and the scales are somewhat thin but strong. I was apprehensive of the 2 holes in the G10 handle because I was afraid that you could stick your pinky in there and whack, your pinky is sliced. But the hole is small enough so that most adults couldn't fit their pinky in there. There's no way you could accidentally get your pinky in there and slice it unless you've got small pinky's, beware. You could force your pinky in there and slice it but what idiot would do that? I'm happy with the purchase. :)

This knife definitely has a mystique about it.
If this is popular enough it would be neat to see a fixed blade version, maybe a 4mm thick 4 or 5" blade with a African Blackwood handle.

The handle is really comfy. It carries like a much smaller knife too. Very thin and light.

I too think a fixed blade would be awesome.
