Who needs paper shredders?

#1

Post by clipiteer »

Who needs paper shredders when you have Spyderco knives? Whilst sifting through my junk mail one day, and after finishing sharpening my Case 3207 in CV (for those that know what the Case markings mean, I'll let you translate for yourself) and after sharpening my Delica (ATS-55) I was kind of bored, so I just started slicing pages out of a catalouge. The spey blade on my Case cut through the pages effortlessly, slicing them off one at a time until I had cut all the pages from a 70 page magazine. Then, I held each page at the top and sliced them all clean down the middle in one stroke. After doing all this, the knife was still sharp enough to shave hair off my arm and sever rubber bands neatly. So, instead of wasting all that junk mail, now I use it for entertainment.

Whoa!

For a minute there, I thought you might have been an employee at Enron or something...
Just teasing!
I agree: Junk mail is kinda fun to "hack" through. I normally just pitch it in to the woodstove. I love watching credit cards burn....

For those who aren't familiar with Case's numbering, I'll translate.

Each number in a Case ID number has a purpose.
3-Number corresponding to Yellow Synthetic Handles.
2-Number of blades.
07-Specific pattern number, in this case, a Trapper.

Hence, I deduce that Clipiteer is now the proud owner of a Case CV Trapper, 3207.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Hi clipiteer,

While we don't mind you using an image for your signature, the one you are using is very large and consumes a great deal of page space. Would you do me a favor and use this smaller version of the Meerkat image for your signature? Just click on the link, and take the url from the image which pops up.

spyderholic,

I don't get your sig. I get the first part, but not the bladestretcher part. BTW in the first part you forgot about the SpydeRench

Clipiteer:
Love that Meerkat. I think this model will become, in time, a classic on par with Calypso Jr.

Spyderholic:
Where do I get one of those bladestreachers?

Is this better? Sword and Shield, you are absolutely right, but now can you figure out what year it is by this: It was made after they stopped putting the date in numbers on the blade and has x . x .
Case XX
x . x . x
on the master blade. (5 x's and 4 dots in case I did it wrong)

It doesn't work now..

Remember how I.K.I.N.J.A.K was a part of someone's sig and we had to guess what it meant to win something, what if spyderholics bladestretcher reference is gonna be the same...long shot but who knows

I think it was something to do with my marquee code and the order I put it in...

*Stops screwing with his sig*

First and foremost, what happened up a few posts? I deduce from KK's penitence that he had something to do with it, but what's going on?

Clipiteer, the date is really simple, 2001. 2000 had 5 xs and 5 dots, from 2001-5 a dot is removed. From 2006-10 an x is removed. You'll have to try harder than that to fool me! <joking, of course!>

KK, I think it has something to do with the sig. Over at the Tippmann forums, people started doing scrolling pics and words with similar effects. Even when they got it right, everybody got p.oed becasue it started getting annoying. It looks cool, but just don't make pictures scroll. Oh, Sword and Shield, how's this for hard: what is the 3rd letter of the 27th word in the article on CV blade care on the back of the box, and what is the word? And what do the two X's stand for? And what color pocket lint is stuck in the liners of my knife?

I think I took it out...

Sorry for the trouble folks...

But I think the screwing up of this thread has something to do with Clipiteers posts because his has something in it "Start fragment" or something O_o

Oh well I won't do it again....but can I type in blue text without aggravating people??

OK- on the letter and word, ya got me. I don't have a box nearby to check. However, the XX started out as a symbol that the knife was "double-checked" as to proper temper and draw. As for the lint, I would guess blue. You seem like a denim type!
