Definitely a copy of the Rookie. I wish there was a way I could get my hands on it and examine it without having to buy it and support a ripoff artist. The guy selling it obviously knows that it is a ripoff because he is using Spyderco in the title to lure people in.

This sure looks like the work of one of the Byrd manufacturers. Compare the fit, finish, fasteners, etc. to the Byrd Cara Cara. I smell a rat!

See you guys got it all wrong. Look at the description its a Spyderco "like" folder.

Never mind that they're breaking all of Spyderco's patents and committing fraud. They put "like" in the description so its ok.

Keyword spamming

It is called keyword spamming and it is not allowed by eBay. The only way for eBay to know is to have members report it. Keyword spamming uses a company's well earned name to sell another item. Some companies actively monitor eBay for fakes and copies but it is hard to spend a lot of time doing that when you are a small company like Spyderco. I think they would rather spend time making knives for forumites.

If the dimensions listed in the auction are accurate, then I'd call it a slightly scaled down, and in some ways "improved" (dual liners, 50/50 choil) copy of the original G-10 Police. 3.75" blade, as opposed to 3" for the Rookie and 4.125" for the Police.

Sucks no matter what.

Then again, maybe Spyderco should "sincerely flatter" those folks right back. ;) :D

Spyderco "Like"!? That is like sticking The Spirit of Ecstasy on the hood of a Yugo and calling it Rolls Royce 'Like'. :rolleyes:

Hmmm...at $14.95 with $5.00 shipping, it's already overpriced. Says 440C on the blade...I guess you could spread butter on your toast with it? :)

440C isn't bad steel, if that is really what it is made of. If Spyderco was making these, I'd buy a couple. I'd like a Police that was small enough to carry legally and big enough to fit my hand.
I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.
