Just a FYI. I picked up a couple today. When comparing a sprint with an original issue, they are identical dimensionally EXCEPT in thickness. The original is somewhat thicker, and as such the sprint is not a secure fit in the original's kydex. It fits, but not secure enough to still be there after a good mountain bike or similar romp.

Hey, they shouldn't sell more than one / person, otherwise we won't get any...

It is such a great knife you just carry it in your hand alll day long, walking (or if EXTREMEly inclinded, running) from cutting job to cutting job. Warning, stay away from the wife's shoe and purse closet. Nothing in there you can cut without hampering your marital bliss. :p
Follow the mushin, but pay it no heed.

Hey all, yesterday I played around with some Kydex and I thought I'd share the results ...

The Swick description states that selling the knife without a sheath was to allow for various carrying options, so I a tried out a couple of those options that were rolling around in my head.

Note: I'm a new to working with Kydex (the plastic sheeting used to make these sheaths) and to sheath making. I am still learning, as evident by the numerous mistakes I made on these, but they are all functional, so I'm happy.

Here are the 3 sheaths I made. Let's call them 1, 2 and 3 going from left to right. The #2 is a neck sheath; not much to say there. The other two provide several options for carry. Both of them can be fitted with the Spyderco G-clip (a great little clip).

Here's #3 showing the G-clip mounting location:

Note that #1 and #3 have an integral clip inspired by the G-clip:

#3 allows for my favorite way to carry; on my right hip:

I like it because my rather large cell phone pouch goes over it. With a loose fitting shirt, even tucked in, the knife is almost completely hidden:

This is also the way I carry my Mule (the perfect knife) which I have EDCed for several weeks:

The #1 sheath is for carry in the small of the back. Using the G-clip and the integral clip, the knife can be carried at a slight angle from the horizontal or vertical:

Kind of fun, ehhh?

Not bad, MMJ. See some creative juices going there. Definitely agree on the G-clip.

and some numbers on the thickness: the old version was 5/32" thick, the new one is 1/8" thick, so it's 20% thinner. (or if you prefer, the old one was 25% thicker)
