They are the same characters, just type them like this:

"Hope for the best. Be prepared for the worst. You'll never be disappointed."

I figured the Spyder smiley <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> would be a big hit. Thanks for the kind words. It's a lot of fun working on such an active forum, with a great company/product as its focus.

You guys are 'buggie"~ RLOL!!!

The Spyderco pin is a gold Spyderco bug given/issued only to employees of Spyderco after they've been with the company for a while. To my knowledge only one non-employee has ever been given one before.

Hey Lotsa-
No I didn't buy mine from the same guy. I have bought knives from this guy. Ok here is the story I got from the guy who is selling this on ebay. Sal used to work for him many, many years ago, then Sal started Spyderco. After it started taking off for Sal the gentleman came to work for Sal and worked as an outside salesperson and worked knife shows. He and Sal are supposed to be friends of many years. Don is selling off most except for a few pieces that personally mean something to him. That is what I have heard.

The Gold bugs that Spyderco makes are made in very small qualtities. They are 14K gold and are given to employees, that have been with us for a while, some select distributors and vendors.

Don and I go waaaaaay back. He has/had one of the original "Workers" that we began with in 1981. He also has a large numnber of aftermarket customs, including some he made himself. He did a nice job.

These gold bugs are very difficult to get in that Spyderco does not sell them for any reason. Getting one from an employee is probably the only way to get one. They cost us almost a hundred bucks each just to make them.

Sal,
Thanks for verifying the authenticity of the pin, and the story behind it. I've made Don an offer on the auction.

I really hope I win!!
