Haha, thanks for the clarification! When I hear 'temperance' I instinctively think of the word 'Lil :) did not know it was referring to the fixed bladed Temperance.

Cheers

Where the Lil Temperance got it's name from what I was told had to do with similar blade design that the original "fixed blade Temperance" model had.

The original Lil Temperance has a leaf type blade design just like the big, Fixed blade Temperance model does>> Thus the name "Lil Temperance".

The "rhino horn" blade variation of the Lil Temperance model came later. It is more of an upswept, bowie type blade but is still called the "Lil Temperance model because it sports the same handle scales and clip along with the green G-10 handle.

The "TEMPERANCE" is a fixed blade knife<<<>>> The Lil Temperance is a folder.

What's "Boltaron"?
hickster

Should'a looked it up first:
Boltaron
A recycled ABS/acrylic PVS extruded alloy sheet material used for making sheaths. It has excellent impact strength and abrasion, chemical, and fire resistance properties.

The wait for this knife is going to kill me. I'm interested in the Chicago, Cat, Stretches, and Dragonfly, but this is the only one so far that fascinates me. It just looks so perfect.
Ask me where I got my awesome SUPERHAWK!

More like Mid-Cal now

That's a great looking knife. What I didn't like about the original design - the sharp hump and the distance between the edge and the guard - I see is gone now.

The only problem I have is the added 9/16" which make it illegal to carry without legal reason over here. And I liked the old grip better, not only for price point, but I have also a slight dislike for fulltangs.

I guess I'll have to look for an old one...

#2 on my wishlist.
I actually like the idea that it's going to be a bit longer. The micarta handle is a GREAT feature. It's gonna be looking great amongst my Perrin FBs and the Hossom beast...

This one is gonna be very hard to pass up. Looks alot like a Mule on steroids with a beautiful micarta handle. Also, is it just me or does it look like the handle might be a bit thinner than the orginal's FRN handle? I love my original Temp, but this one just looks sensational! Hope I can afford it when it comes out. :D

Spyderco's fixed blades are going big league

Do we have a more definite release date as of yet for Temperance2????

I still haven't heard any word as to whether it's going to be available in SE?

The older Temperance sure has all but disappeared from the landscape. Just a year or so ago I could have got as many as I wanted for a reasonable price. Oh how fast the Spyder-Market changes.

Even factory seconds of this guy will be fought over

I do like the one suggestion of it eventually being available in different blade steels like S90V, ZDP-189 and so forth. It will bankrupt many collectors for sure :D

Spyderco sure has staked their claim in the fixed blade arena. It's only going to get better from here on ;)

Temperance 2 in Spyderedge? I HOPE SO

I agree Jenner ;) This new Temperance model should be a very superb success story. I don't even think that the price will be any deterent either. This new Temperance 2 is a blade a guy could have to use and pass it on to his kids, grandkids and greatgrandkids

I haven't heard as to whether this blade will be offered in the Spyderedge, serrated variant?

I think any Spyderco fixed blade would sell well in SE and this one I think would do really well.

Although after hearing MSRP  , I'm not sure how I'm gonna pull it off considering there are several other knives I want this year too. :D
The problem is not with guns. It’s hearts without God, homes without discipline, schools without prayer, and courts without justice.

I would give up several of my collectible Spydies for one of these babies.
