I'm not very current on which model Spydie is 'valuable' or not to collectors, but I love carrying some of the oldies in my collection from time to time.
- Original R, SE
- Jot Singh Khalsa, PE
- Delica III CF Left-hande, PE

My personal "Fearsome Foursome"

I have 4 Spyders that I carry often that would be considered "Holy Grail" Spyders.

The C-44 big Dyad
The blue handled, plain edge Spyderhawk
The C-46 Bob Lum Tanto Folder, G-10, ATS-55, CE
Massad Ayoob, SE

But I've had all these blades as users for at least 4 to 5 years plus. When I first became a citizen of Spyderville all those models were very much available at the time. I've had some tell me that my G-10 handled, SE, ATS-55 Harpy is a sacred cow of sorts. I hope I'm not faced with the task of replacing it anytime soon.

Hey I'm into collectibles as much as the next guy but if there's a Spyderco knife that really lights up your life then go ahead and use it for crying out loud. They were made to be used and don't forget that. I'm always open to obtaining back up units to the ones I'm currently using so you might want to consider that game plan.

A great group of Classic Spyders. And these models are extremely functional as well.

I have lots of Spydies in my EDC rotation. Among the rarities I use:

CF PE Harpy
CF PE Delica
Black PE Dodo
SS ATS-55 PE CoPilot
Kopa Black Micarta
1st gen ClipIt Dragonfly

I only carry these as I do have one or more of these as safe queens. If they were my only ones, I'd carry them but not use them for heavy cutting duties.

My EDC's. Don't know about holy grail, but for me they are. not the easiest items to replace. Those are just smudges on the C46GP, condition after 7 years of EDC is 98% like-new.

hey brother that Military is not what I would call a Holy Grail ( at least not as of yet) but that Bob Lum Tanto Folder is truly a classic among classics. Your PE blade is special because there aren't too many of them being used at all. The one I carry has a black coated blade, ATS-55 blade steel and a combo edge with a G-10 handle. I personally never was much of a tanto man until I got my first Spyderco Bob Lum tanto. His design truly is functional as well as looking pretty. I do hope that Spyderco will eventually do a sprint run of the Lum tanto with a newer, super blade steel and possibly another handle material. I'm sure a sprint run of 3 to 5 hundred would sell pretty rapidly.

So many Spyderco's, such a short memory :P

The one I just adore for carry would have to be the Native III, superb blade steel, that awesome blade profile and a handle I think cannot be beaten for comfort and feel.

Just a OMG knife over all, dont think it can be beaten.

Cheers

My Grey Matriarch(1 of the 500 ever made), my linerless Civvie.
Those must be the most valuable knives of mine. Not that they're that valuable to others though. But especially the grey Matriarch was/is my holy grail.
Oh and of course my Dodo's.. one blue PE has been my EDC for over two years, I guess. I'd have to check when I bought it.

I carry and use my grail, the G-10 Endura. A "grail" only because it never was made for many years. EDCing a SS EII and E4 made me realize just how good the hidden-in-plain-sight ones are.

While it might not be a true "grail" knife,I'll throw my all-stainless steel Rookie in my pocket from time to time. If I had a duplicate, it would get regular pocket time.

This thread has inspired me to carry and use my big Calypso.

I may even get it tricked out with some new scales and a clip in the "right" position ;)

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.
