Humm, I wonder why do they call those "Ladybugs"...

Free Radical,
Thank you for the heads-up. Those were not authorized. We're on it.

On that note, we really do appreciate all of you looking out for us. There is no way for us to actively search for things like this. So, it really is a huge help when you all bring things like this to our attention.

Thanx Much!!

Kristi

i think $15 is a little expensive for those. cause once you get the mold, just cut from sheet steel. or am i missing something?

or how about sharpening the edges and sell them as throwing stars, nay, throwing SPYDERS!!! :p :p

There is no mold, each one is laser cut from a sheet of stainless (it says "laser cut" in the description, and I've seen similar stuff done in person).

I'm wondering, was this a custom order to a metal shop, a custom job by one of the guys that works there, or was it just a shop worker in his off time at the metal shop (and did he pay for the material he used)?

good point. but regardless, laser cut or mold cut, they both require minimal (if any) start up cost and no mass production cost (besides electricity and steel of course).

hey, im just petitioning it to cost less!

You are petitioning an unauthorized use of a company logo cost less?

it takes someone to put the logo into something that the CNC machine can read (at least thats how i think it works). when we bought the pen and wooden box with the spydie logo there was a set up fee to program the machine that drilled it out. for the record i had to go thru channels (without Sal knowing, which wasn't to easy) and get :spyder: 's lawyer to approve us making a copy of their logo, even though we were giving it to Sal. This auction is just blatant disregard of a trademark IMO.

That's a pretty blatant copyright violation. :(

Apparently the fact that it has 8 legs is just too confusing.

I suppose this would be a good place to ask, is it OK to use the spydie symbol if it's for personal use only? Like if I designed a set of those for my own use and didn't try to sell them? Also, what about if I gave a couple to friends as gifts? Would that be infringing on the spydie copyright?

Here's another poliwog fake shown up down under...http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Hunting ... 421536.htm.. this auction site is likely to shut the vendor down if they are known to be selling counterfeit products...

They are also trying to sell it at a ridiculous price,it's $5.99 here Though apparently it takes them forever to ship (A friend ordered one to test against another friend's true Poli)
