No Wegner Jr's to be found

Hmmmmm... for my first knife (after that return) I want to pick up a little one, since I found even a 2 1/2 inch blade much bigger that I normally needed for my cutting tape, string, packaging, etc.

So the mouse sounded like a nice plan, and I still plan on getting one from bladeart.com maybe tomorrow but then I got to thinking about thw Wegner Jr... and figured that it may be a good compliment to the mouse, if I like it. The Wegner Jr. looks strong, practical, and brutally ugly... which is exactly what I want in I encounter some larger tasks.

Do you know where I could find one (I know they're discontinued), and if the mouse and wegner jr. would make a pair to handle most any task?

What about Tim Wegner's site?

I think it is www.blade-tech.com

EDIT: He doesn't have them .

If you are willing to pay 200 bucks (unless someone bought it) there was a pair of Wegner's, one large, one small, both Plain Edge on Ebay.

Folks,

I have an "as new" plain edge Wegner Jr. that I would be willing to part with as follows:

1) for money

2) in trade for a Wegner Mouse

3) If someone were to order a Mouse on my behalf, pay for it and have it sent to me then I would gladly send them my Wegner Jr.

This last suggestion may seem odd, but the reason I suggest this option is that currently the Mouse is on sale at Blade-Tech and Blade-Art, so for less than $80 U.S. this could be accomplished by someone. For me to order from these suppliers is more difficult and more expensive, as I hail from Canada and the money conversion adds a fair bit to the price for me.

Anybody interested in one of these arrangements? I will take a picture of the Wegner Jr. I have this A.M and post it here later.

Jeff/1911.

Hi Jeff,

Nice knife! I own a serial numbered 50/50 model. Its a shame to see you selling your prized spydies off, hope it goes to a good home.

I see that you upload your scanned images onto the internet ~ why don't you just browse on 'Post Images' to whichever folder you've saved them on your hard drive and they'll get uploaded with your post? (Just make sure that they're small size jpeg's or gif's.)

I've celebrated my 100th Post by buying a G-10 PE Police...Aye!

Al,

Thanks for the helpful advice, however I like to refer to images elsewhere so that I can offer a large, high resolution picture for viewing. I have used the forums 400x400 images before but usually I prefer to link to my originals.

Cheers, Jeff/1911.

YAY! My wegner Jr. is here!!!

It's just great, it locks completely solid when it's open, and is really stiff when closed.

The PE sliced through raw steak yesterday without any back and forth motion, it was like butter. It can stab right through cardboard to make handles in seconds, and it feels great whether chopping, stabbing, slicing, or pulling.

I loosened it as much as I can with an allen key, and WD-40'd it and I can flick it completely open with a little force.

I love the liner lock, because it secures the blade over a long section of metal, and not just a little grove, like in a lockback.

I would have to say that this knife is more practical, feels better, sharper (out of the box), and more solid than my calypso jr, which I once owned.

Jeff, who did you order it from? Was it a dealer?

Cause I live in Canada, and got ripped off big time with conversion, customs, shipping, etc.

I can guarantee you'll love it... the only negative things I can think of are that maybe a flat grind would slice a little better, and I would like it if the hole were slightly larger. Oh, and I think tip down should be an option.

mini> I traded with him...

sent registered and insured, air... cost me $15.60 to send...

Jeff, you will have to sign for it because it's registered mail. I don't trust customs, so if it's lost I can replace it and try again(insured for 200, it's 135+tax to buy one again).

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...
