What if there was a milie with a black coated blade, compression lock, and olive drab handles?

Any comments?

Don't know about the compression lock, I haven't had the opportunity to "play" with one; build it with the "C" or as a lockback, or add a secondary lock to the liner lock. Don't care if the handles are black, OD, or whatever, as long as they're subdued. Don't really care about the blade color. So what does it really need--Double Steel or Titanium liners--Pachucks

Not too concerned about a black blade, but different colors for the handles might be nice. I can't help but think that going to colored handles on some of the big knives with inset s.s. spydies in them wouldn't help make some of the knives a it more pc/sheeple friendly, and thus easier to carry without getting grief.

I have not played with a compression lock, but I have no problems with the liner lock, esp. if full double liners were added to the handles to keep it from flexxing any under stress.

A mini version with a slightly different blade:handle ratio (lot more blade, little less handle) would be very interesting.

Hi RevolverGeek! Welcome to Spyderland!

I definitely like your idea about modifying some Spydie's grips. The colors would lead to one problem...The Spyder-Color-Coordination Virus! (Evilly Laughs....)

Gotta get one for each outfit, pant color, shirt, it could go on and on...

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Thanks Sword, glad to be here!

I was thinking how Swiss Army knives are loved by everyone, and they have such a distinctive look, maybe the colored Spydies with bright shiny bugs might work on some sort of subconcious level and make them more appealing to non-knife folk.

I have noticed a lot in my carrying and using of knives, it is not just the size that freaks people out. The color scheme and finish seem to make a big difference sometimes. It seems that some people associate the black/beadblasted blade and black handle as weapons in nature but the shiny blade/colored handle as tools.

Hmmm... make some Military models in a nice "U.N." blue or "Barney" purple (or even a nice hunter green), with a matching color bug on a shiny clip and a big silver bug on the opposite scale to act as a smooth pivot point for those who like to shift grips????
