I think you guys are all missing the boat. :D
Have any of you handled a Ball Bearing lock model other than the Dodo? The D'Allaras (Rescue and Drop Point) are like greased glass, and the Poliwog I just picked up makes the D'Allaras feel rough by comparison.

I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.

My ATR is the smoothest I have followed by my Para. I think the Compression lock has something to do with that...
Smoothest backlock tho would be the Chinook III, followed by the full size Manix, and a close third is the H1 Mariner. I'm thinking the heavier blade makes the action "feel" smoother. These are just the knives I have tho...

Of the blades I have, the following stand out for their smooth action:
1) Dodo
2) Yojimbo
3) Kopa
4) Caly 3
5) Caly Jr
Also, I must say that the Lil Temp's I have handled have been buttery smooth as well.
I would expect the upcoming Viele Phoenix to be as smooth as any of the above.

I don't have any smooth Spydies, because I like a nice stiff action. Almost all of my lock backs have been tinkered with to the point that the blade is barely sucked in when closing. I really have to use my thumb to open it.
And so are all of my other knives
