Who here DOES NOT own a Paramilitary?
Just curious who here does not own a Paramilitary?
If you do not, have you ever? If you did, but got rid of it why did you?
I'm just curious. :)

Had a SE version for a while & sold it.
I liked the size
I liked the Compression lock
I liked the materials used
I disliked the sharp edges on the clip
I disliked how it rode high in the pocket & the exposed lockwork would get gunked up during yardwork.
I disliked the forward choil - was not big/deep enough to feel secure & felt awkward if I gripped behind it.
It was great in terms of fit & finish, but it just was not for me.

I've had two of them Dave but got rid of them all
They fitted my hand as a glove but I hated the off centreness of both and mostly the fact that both of my Para's developped vetical play after some minor cutting
Now if Sal would come with a Para with a nested linerlock a la Military, would have two again in no time

I handled one and was not the least bit tempted to buy it. Wrong handed lock, over thick blade, cramped choil, and poor blade/handle ratio ruled it out for me as a user. G-10 scales and overall appearance ruled it out as a display piece.

I don't own one. If they release a new version with a tip-up ambi clip, I'll probably get one, but I don't want it bad enough to get one modded.

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

I owned one and liked it initially, but after a while I grew disappointed with it and got rid of it. I still have one stored in a pack, but not for the carry rotation. I dislike the lefty-unfriendly set-up of the clip and the tang that stick out when the knife is closed. Otherwise, a fine knife, but no match -in my case- for a Mini Manix or Caly 3 or Stretch II.

Unpacked a D2 Para last night
Well ... here we go. It's the first knife purchase over a $100 for me and I'm a bit uncertain as to the full spectrum of my motivations ... but, I think it boiled down to the combination of the foliage green G-10 along with the recent praise of CPM's D2 characteristics that provided the "activation energy" to pull the trigger.
Yeah, I know ... this knife is a "character" with definite flaws ... lumpy, undifferentiated choil, hard-to-get-used to comp lock, too small rear space for four finger hold behind choil (my finger bones fit inside, but my finger flesh spills out over the ramps).
But **** ... the fit and finish are superb, the blade and steel seem fantastic (although the included grind angle was about 35* ... ugh) ... and it just seems to be the quintessential outdoor, through-the-woods folder that can be counted upon for sharpness and strength. I like it !!! The business end is very evolved even though the handle has problems. Strength of purpose is the upside of this knife ... and although I won't use it for all the same small jobs I would my UKPK ... I'll carry it as my strong side multi-purpose field knife with weakside pocket full of serrations as backup.
Question ... can I use it when it's raining without it beginning to corrode?

I never had para and not planning to get one. I do not like this small blade in huge handle, I do not like tip down carry as well. Henry1960 has couple of them, so i was able to handle and wasn't impressed. Caly3 and Persian work much better for me.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

I've never had a desire to own one. The design doesn't do anything for "me".
It's better to have knife and not need it than to need a knife and not have it.
