G-10 Police...Here I go again

#1

Post by Jeff/1911 »

I've been thinking about one of these for a long time now. In fact, it's one of the first I considered buying; much like my recent Delica story. Somehow, it didn't happen back then. And, since I am waiting on my local supplier to get some VG-10 serrated Delica's in, to finish off my newly formed Delica collection, I've been thinking it might be smart to get that G-10 Police now while I still can. The local shop still has one serrated model in stock. I think it would go nicely with my s/s plain edge, or my large Calypso; also plain edge.

Don't you think? Come on here folks...help me out.

I'd Get the G-10 Police, Jeff - This is a classic knife and will soon be like gold dust.

Al,

Thanks. That's what I think too.

I had thought for awhile that "I can always buy one at some point..." but this is no longer going to be true. At least not likely one that I can see and handle before purchase.

I appreciate your help with "the process".

Cheers, Jeff/1911.

Just think how bad you would feel if you didn't get one now, and couldn't get one later because they were discontinued

Think of it as an investment. Whatever you pay for it now, it will be worth more when it is discontinued. And the price will only rise the longer it is discontinued.

You are doing it for the state of your health. Stress and worry over difficult choices are becoming serious ailments.

Just think how greatful your nieghbors will be when next time you use it to free Mr. Tiddles the cat from a bramble bush, (ok, I'm getting tenous now ).

Yog,

Thanks. Those are some really good reasons. The idea that the effects of worry on my poor system are simply not worth...now that's a very good one indeed.

Cheers, Jeff.

Jeff,

That is an excellent knife. The Police is tried-and-true.

Out of curiosity, is it flat or hollow ground?

Take care,

Congrats on your new purchase Jeff!

I'm going for a PE G-10 Model when the next paycheque comes in...which seems along way off

Stu,

It is one of the flat ground ones. It kind of reminds me of a "slim" serrated Military, with a spine lock design instead of the liner lock.

For a long time I looked for one of the earlier hollow ground, serrated G-10 Police models. I've always thought they looked really nice.

I think this knife makes a great companion to my plain edge, stainless Police model. I hope my serrated, s/s police doesn't get jealous... Hmmmmmm. I might have to start looking for a plain edge G-10 Police model to go along with it.

Thanks to all of you for sharing in my excitement. It sure is fun posting here about a new knife purchase. Jeff/1911.

Better get two. One to use and one to put up.

I hate when an excellent knife is discontinued. I feel obligated to buy a spare since they'll all be gone soon.

Yes Dennis, I understand this feeling.

I did go and order the G-10 Police, plain edge today. I'll look forward to having this together with the serrated model.

Jeff.
