Considering it's available for free from Spyderco, the high bidder's username doesn't quite fit. :)

I wonder if my old Spyderco catalogs are worth anything....

If people are going to pay for a Spyderco catalog that they can get for free, it makes me wonder how sane some of those recent price spikes we've seen are.

Just another case of someone paying the "iggie" tax. Ignorance can be expsenive, but in this case not too terribly expensive.

I wonder why people bid more on something used that what it cost to buy the same thing new. I asked a bidder that once and his reply was: I was wondering the same thing :D

I think I will put in for like 5 free catalogs from Spyderco then resell them at a profit! (evil laugh!!!)

I see a lot of free catalogs get sold on eBay... I can understand one from years ago, a collector might want, but the current year...

This is the full size dealer catalog. A friend of mine was gracious enough to get me a copy (for free) and it's a beautiful catalog with life size images of each knife, even the very large fixed blades like the Dayhiker. Is it a desirable catalog? Yes. Worth $20 (current bid)? No.

Um, yeah, that would be me... I totally misread the description and thought it was some kind of special dealer catalog, added it to the watch list and didn't look back. The sad part is, I think I already have one of those. Most of the time I'm not this stupid, I promise  I hope...

Carry on, nothing to see here :p

Ouch that watch list can bite ya if you forget why you are watching something.

Better a small dollar mistake than a high dollar mistake though.

With the new pricing structure (much cheaper to list but more expensive if you sell the item) it's now worth it to take a chance selling on eBay and list all kinds of random crap - even more than before. Especially if you're willing to start it at a penny.

No offense, but every time I see something like that the phrase "There's a sucker born every minute" comes to mind...

Just think how much it may have brought if it had been advertised as "Rare Spyderco Catalog". This is nuts!!
