Szabofly question

#1

Post by Andre V »

Hello All,

I have read about the customs problems with the Szabofly and the resulting dissapearance from the market.

Does anyone have any idea how many where made? And any idea on what one would be worth?

Thanks in advance :)

I believe the best guess is 200 are in circulation. Since so few sell it is difficult to predict the going rate.
Follow the mushin, but pay it no heed.

As Zen pointed out, most likely the first run that went to collectors was all that made it out the door. As for what it's worth, that depends on the buyer, and whether he/she is a flipper, or collector.

I have one of these knives & I have had it for awhile now I dont know the value I know there are not very many on the streets & I think I heard after they were released a letter went out asking for them to be returned to Spyderco.

Here is a quick photo I shot as a size comparison of a Kevin Wilkins Leafstorm & the Spyderco UKPK the SzaboFly is seen at the bottom.

What someone would pay for one of these boils down to how badly the person wants one I guess whatever the market would bear would be determined by that.

It will only go up in value with time though as more people get interested in these knives & no more are made the old addage supply & demand.

Yeah I believe the above posters are right thats for sure.

I have seen about three sold all above $250. I think that is reasonable and the price has probably gone up.

I'm sure you can still get one directly from Szaboinc and I believe they still make em, but it has nothing to do with Spyderco.

keep going down

take care

Wow, 200 - that's limited. Does the fact that Spyderco is now making these for Military/LE purchase (in 154CM) bring the price down?

With such limited quantities, and lack of sales transpiring, I wonder if they will develop in value.

How much did you end up selling your's for?
