Counsel on the Tim Zowada model.....

#1

Post by SpyderNut »

I'm thinking about geting another Spyderco, [I haven't gotten one for a while...!] And I was wondering if anybody can tell me a little bit about the Zowada model. You really don't here a lot about these guys, so I would appreciate some insight on this.

I see that it sports an AUS-8 blade, and a micarta handle to top it off. Looks like a sweet boot knife. I heard that this knife is now discontinued, so I might have to latch on to it first, before I go for something else. It's either that, or I would like to get a serrated Starmate.

Thank you!

I just checked the list of 2002 models and the Tim Zowada is still available, but in PE only. That's OK as the serrations didn't suit the blade stype anyway (JMNSHO<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>). Did I read that the steel was being upgraded or was that just wishful thinking?

Thanks, guys, for the info on the Zowada. I am still thinking about getting it. I don't like 'decision making', espcially when it comes to knives. We'll see what happens.....

Thanks!

Starmate is d/c'd, so you may wanna get that one first. Its considerably larger than the Zowada, if that makes a difference to ya. Ah, don't decide; get 'em both.

Its all fun and games til somebody loses an eye, then its fun and games you can't see.

The Starmate is discontinued?? Oh no! Thats not good. I will probably get indigestion now.......
Your right, Haji, I'll have to get the SM first. That shouldn't be a problem though. hehe

Thanks!
