Which Spyderco would you rather be cut with??
Which Spyderco would you rather be cut with??
As a measure of pure sharpness which Spyderco would you rather be cut with?
Remember that the cleanest cut heals the fastest and with mimimum scarring.
So as a measure of real world cutting ability...........
Which Spyderco ( including discontinued models) would win the "sharpest by design"
title?? What say the Spyderholics ?????
My vote would be the Vg-10 Calypso's .

"lol one of the odder questions i've seen, to be frank i'd rather not be cut at all, but if i had to choose i s'pose a PE civilian, cos the cut wouldn't be very deep
"
I say the deepness depends on who is doing the cutting and how much they like you
I like Sharp1's answer.

Yes I recently cut myslef on a Harpy also...pretty deep. A stupid cut also. I was slicing paper and my hand was behind the paper and it went "slice" in my finger I didn't think it was anything at first...then I pulled the cut apart....and it bled a lot! It's healed now though. I got my Dragonfly SE so sharp to if I even touchthe blade, not move my finger across. just touch it I will get cut!
BTW The 204 is the best sharpener ever!!

My question was to address the relative sharpness issue of various
Spyderco products. My referance to being cut by the knife was to
illustrate the respective blade design and edge geometry of that design
for effectiveness. Please be aware that the knife you carry for self defense
may, just may, be taken away and turned on the owner. That fact alone
would make the cut important as to cleaness of cut and it's atttendant
ablitiy to heal quicky. It would also add a huge measure to the
intimdation factor to an opponent.
So look beyond the what may seem to be off the wall nature of the
question to the pure cutting aspects of the knife blade design.

Geewizz! Man, you have way too much time on your hands......
Anyway, if I had to choose, I reckon I'd take a slice from my good old Spydercard. Yeah, those serrations are dang sharp. Just put your thumb in the way and shut it quick.
Little booger is sharp........

Cut me with one of my spyderkeys. At least it won't be to deep. Little guy is just as sharp as all of my other spydies. Or better yet I have a Q blade that never had an edge or handle put on it. It's as sharp as any of those red handled ones. Or how about the blue colored head warmer I bought at the SFO today. Oh, and I have a couple of hat pins,a Centofante and a Native. And the only thing sharp on them is the pin. But don't cut me if your name is Bobbit or Lecter and you're holding some wicked curved blade. Then my wife would be gunning for you and you don't want a little hillbilly girl after you.
