speaking of bug bites, I used to avidly collect insects when I was little...but the insect kingdom has extracted its revenge (I know these are not ALL insects, but anyway), I've been bitten/stung by: ants, bees, wasps, spiders and a scorpion...didn't know that little water bug could bite LOL!!

"Playing" with "bugs" is actually my occupation. And, some of these water bugs aren't all that small (some are 3" to 6" in length, and catch small fish for dinner).

Anyway (to keep things on topic), knives are an important part of my field work, and Spyderco makes some pretty darn excellent knives. I also can't sharpen a knife the traditional way, so thank Spyderco for the Sharpmaker! :)

Hi Arend, I would be very interested in your personal review of the SE Tenacious after you get it, esp. vs. the SE Military :)

I just sent three knives back to W&R for sharpening - SE Para, my old Adventura and my ZDP Caly Jr. Can't wait to get them all back with the factory edge! The Para I bought and the tooth pattern just seemed "off" (curved forward??) when I got it and wouldn't cut cardboard easily - couldn't get it to where I wanted it so sent it back in. The Adventura has been sharpened so many times that I just can't get it to where I want it either (two years of weekly sharpenings, and I'm no good at reprofiling :o ) and I just don't have the equipment (diamond stones?) and/or the patience to get ZDP shaving sharp. Kinda like getting new knives I guess...
