Have you lost a Spyderco?
Yes, more than once. I remember losing a Mariner while kayaking on a day trip in the Trinity River delta. (Texas) My Mili snagged the wheel well of a vehicle, and fell to the pavement, but I heard it fall, and got it back. There have been more times, I think, but I cannot recall details right now. I rarely use pocket-clip-carry with Spydies these days, though I do use it with a folding karambit folder from another maker, which has a very strong clip. Position has as much to do with it as anything; I usually have more snagging incidents on my right side front pocket than my left front pocket.
Civilians, Dodo, Guntings, Mili, P'kal, Rescues, Ronins, Temperance, others...
Have Colt, will travel.

A different type of "SAD"
I've lost 2 Spyders within a 2 year period. I lost both of them in the wetland project that I work at often. Ironically both were Hawkbills too In the fall of 05 when I took one of my Spyderhawks by mistake ( I had intened to take an SE Endura). I liked the Spyderhawk so much that I immediately started using it quite a bit.
But the wetlands where I work are very heavily timbered with vines everywhere. We also have all kinds of cat-tails, reeds and swamp weeds of all varieties. Thus it's very easy to lose something on your person. And believe me no one would be totally immune there. The other blade I lost last summer was a PE Merlin under almost the same circumstances.
Everytime I go to the wetlands to work I'll usually spend anywhere between 15 minutes to a half an hour looking to see if I can still find either one if not both of them. I will truly agonize over them from now on :o A Spyder is something you absolutely are not to lose It's truly a different type of "sad" when you lose a Spyder much less a Hawkbill :o
